Vol. 344 No. 9

Written Answers. - Housing Finance Agency.

578.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the recent bond issue by the Housing Finance Agency has been fully subscribed; and if he will give details of the degree of interest shown in this issue by the investing institutions as compared to their interest in the first bond issue.

Tenders for the second Housing Finance Agency bond issue were accepted recently and I understand that £25 million of index-linked stock has been allotted in full. It is not the practice of the agency to give details of the tenders received in the interest of commercial confidentiality. The agency however have informed me that in the more recent issue the allotment price was £92 per £100 representing a yield to redemption of 2.93 per cent as against a price of £99 per £100 for the first issue representing a yield of 2.05 per cent.
