asked the Minister for Justice the number of gardaí on special Border duty in County Donegal at the end of June, 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1983; and the cost of this additional security for each year.

Limerick East): It would be contrary to established practice and to the public interest to disclose the number of gardaí assigned to Border duty in County Donegal. Costs associated with such duty are not seperately compiled. It would be difficult, time-consuming and wasteful of scarce Garda resources to attempt to do so.
