Vol. 345 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tralee Hospital Physiotherapists.

366.

asked the Minister for Health if he intends to increase the number of physiotherapists in the new general hospital in Tralee, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The staffing of the new general hospital at Tralee has been considered in consultation with the Southern Health Board and the staff complement required for the opening of the hospital has been determined.

With regard to the number of physiotherapists required for the new hospital it has been decided that the existing complement of seven should be increased by one. I should say that it is the intention to review this staffing complement in the light of the operation of the hospital and particularly when the proposed orthopaedic service at the hospital is fully developed.
