Vol. 345 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin New School.

469.

asked the Minister for Education if she will give a commitment to review the 1984 opening date for Knocklyon post-primary school on Schol arstown Road, County Dublin; if not, if she will consider the provision of post-primary facilities within the parish in the form of temporary accommodation prior to the opening of the school there; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The planning and construction process would not permit of the completion of the building of this proposed school and its readiness for occupation as early as 1984.

A recent review by my Department indicates that sufficient post-primary school places to accommodate pupils from the Knocklyon district will be available in existing schools in the neighbourhood up to 1986 at least. In the circumstances it is not considered necessary to have temporary post-primary school accommodation provided in Knocklyon prior to the opening of the new school.
