asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that an inspector from his Department suggested an adjustment in the house plans originally submitted for grant purposes by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick and that as a result a grant is now being refused; and if he will make inquiries in the matter and clarify the situation.

The situation outlined by the Deputy is not correct, since the applicant has not been refused a new house grant. An inspection of his house in November 1982 revealed that it was not built in accordance with the plans submitted to the Department and the applicant's wife was requested, at the time of the inspection, to submit plans of the house as constructed. These have not yet been received and a decision on his eligibility cannot be given until they are received.
