asked the Minister for Defence the system operated by his Department in respect of the appointment of civilian employees for jobs in Finner Army Camp, Ballyshannon, County Donegal and in particular if interviews are being held by a board.

Nominations for the filling of vacancies for civilian employees at Finner Camp, County Donegal and at other military posts are sought from the National Manpower Service. Persons nominated by that service are interviewed by an officer of the Permanent Defence Force.

asked the Minister for Defence the reason a person (details supplied) in County Donegal was not appointed to the position of civilian painter at Finner Army Camp, Ballyshannon, County Donegal, when he was placed third on a panel for appointment, and when other applicants who applied later were appointed.

The person named was interviewed for a post of painter at Finner Camp, Ballyshannon, County Donegal and was not found suitable. No appointment has yet been made.
