Vol. 346 No. 6

Written Answers. - Schools Grants Payments.

597.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in paying grants to schools (details supplied) in County Cork.

The position with regard to grant payment for building works at the national schools in question is as follows:

Presentation Convent National School, Fermoy—My Department have under consideration a report from the Commissioners of Public Works regarding works carried out at this school and will be sanctioning a grant for eligible items already attended to. A further report is awaited from the commissioners regarding electrical works and the heating installation.

Bishop Murphy Memorial School, Fermoy—Grant payments have been made to the school authorities in respect of furniture and boiler installation. Further grant payments will arise when certain outstanding work has been satisfactorily attended to.
