asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a better telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The telephone service for the subscriber has been affected by a series of faults on the overhead lines serving his installation.

A special examination of his line is being arranged and it is expected this examination will be completed within the next few days.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a business telephone service as a matter of urgency for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Terms have been quoted to the person named and service will be provided within about three months after the necessary agreement has been signed.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a second telephone kiosk in the town of Gort, County Galway, as there is a significant amount of use of the existing kiosk which is frequently out of order.

The provision of an additional public telephone kiosk in Gort, County Galway, is not considered warranted at present and it is not proposed therefore to provide one there.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny as the application has been made for some time.

It is expected that telephone service will be provided for the person named within about three months.

I very much regret the delay in providing telephones. However, within a year the vast bulk of applications will be met on demand.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a business telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare.

I very much regret the delay in providing telephone service for the person named. However, it will not be possible to meet this application until necessary additional engineering work is carried out.

The objective of the Department's current telephone development programme is to provide a fully satisfactory telephone service nationally in terms of both quality and availability by the end of 1984 and it is expected that service will be provided for the person named in about four months.

It was expected that service would be provided earlier. Unfortunately it was not possible to do so because of the need to divert staff to other urgent work.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when a telephone service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in South Tipperary.

Service will be provided for the person named as soon as possible but it is unlikely that the necessary engineering work can be completed before the middle of next year.

The objective of the Department's current telephone development programme is to provide a fully satisfactory telephone service nationally in terms of quality and availability by the end of 1984.

I very much regret the delay in providing telephone service for the person named. However, it will not be possible to meet this application until a new automatic exchange is brought into operation.

Service had been affected by radio interference but is now satisfactory.

It has not been possible in the time available to trace an application on behalf of the person named. If the Deputy can furnish additional information, e.g. when and where the application was made, further efforts will be made to trace it.

I very much regret that it has not been possible to provide service so far for the person named because of the volume of engineering work on hands and requiring attention in the Dublin area.
