Vol. 346 No. 6

Written Answers. - Drainage Scheme.

449.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money spent on surveys and studies on the Dunkellin river in 1983; the number of staff employed in 1983 on these studies; and the amount of money and number of staff that will be provided in 1984.

A total of £157,000 approximately will, it is estimated, be spent in 1983 on the specialist investigations which were commissioned in connection with proposals for a drainage scheme for the Dunkellin river catchment area. The Commissioners of Public Works have no function in the staffing involved in these investigations, which is essentially a matter for the appointed consultants. Adequate funds have been allocated to enable the investigations to continue in 1984.
