Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Donegal River.

315.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if the Government have any plans to purchase the fishing rights on the estuary of the Eany River at Inver Bay, County Donegal, as such an acquisiton would benefit the State and local fishermen.

The Fisheries Act, 1980, provides for the acquisition of fisheries in certain circumstances by the Central Fisheries Board subject to my approval and the consent of the Minister for Finance. I understand, however, that the board have no plans to purchase the fishing rights on the estuary of the Eany river at Inver Bay, County Donegal.
