Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

347.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that no claim for repayment of tax has been received from the taxpayer.

It is understood, on the basis of information available to the inspector of taxes, that the taxpayer became unemployed recently. If he is still unemployed he should contact the inspector of taxes with a view to claiming any repayment which may be due.

348.

Mr. O'Keeffe

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a tax refund to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's liability for the year 1981-82 has been reviewed and a cheque in settlement of the refund due will be issued at an early date.

The inspector is unable to determine the liabilities for the years 1979-80 and 1980-81 until details of the taxpayer's periods of employment and the position regarding pay and tax deducted in those years have been provided by the employer.

349.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes is unable to process the taxpayer's claim in the absence of certain information which has been requested from his employer. It is expected that the required information will be made available in the near future.

350.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax refund will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes has no record of having received an application for a tax refund in this case for the year 1981-82. There is no information available to the inspector which would suggest that the taxpayer is entitled to a refund for any year.
