Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Meath Coastline Maintenance.

358.

asked the Minister for Finance the part of the £205,000 under coast protection in the 1984 Estimates that will be allocated to Meath County Council for urgent and essential coastline maintenance.

Meath County Council's proposal, under the Coast Protection Act, 1963, for a coast protection scheme at Mornington, Bettystown, Laytown and Gormanston has been received by the Commissioners of Public Works and a statutory preliminary examination of the proposal will be carried out in due course by the commissioners. It will not be possible to undertake that examination for some time and, consequently, the allocation of funds to a scheme in 1984 from subhead 1 of Vote 9 (Public Works and Buildings) does not arise.
