Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - General Medical Services.

379.

asked the Minister for Health if he intends to introduce a pension scheme for doctors working in the GMS.

380.

asked the Minister for Health the progress that has been made by the working party on the general medical services; and when he expects negotiations to be finalised.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 379 and 380 together.

The working party on the GMS are considering a number of aspects of that scheme, including superannuation. They have set Easter 1984, as a target date for submission of their report. When I receive their recommendations I will examine them but I cannot say in advance of the report what action will be taken on any aspect of the scheme.
