asked the Minister for Agriculture the 1984 estimated finances under the programme of special measures for Ireland for (a) silage subsidy for first time silage makers; (b) artificial insemination subsidy; (c) ground limestone subsidy; (d) aid for performance/progeny testing and the 1983 estimated outturns in each of the four categories.

The information is as follows:

The 1984 figures are based on the present situation in relation to the relevant EEC Regulation (1054/81) which in respect of items (b), (c) and (d) is due to expire on 30 April 1984. On expiration of the original period ot two years the regulation was not extended as regards first time silage making.
