Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Galway Garda Transport.

568.

asked the Minister for Justice who ordered the withdrawal of the proposed patrol car for the Carna/Rosmuck areas of County Galway; and if he will ensure that this decision is reversed immediately, in view of the type of territory that the Garda have to cover in this particular area.

Limerick East): The allocation of official transport to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities who have informed me that the question of allocating a car to Carna station is being examined in consultation with the local divisional officer but that as yet no decision has been made in the matter.

The Carna and Rosmuck areas are at present covered by mobile patrols operating from their district headquarters stations at Clifden and Oughterard, respectively.
