Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dundalk-Newry Road.

273.

andMr. Kirk asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received the consultancy report on the proposed new road between Dundalk and Newry; and when work on the construction of the road will commence.

The study to evaluate alternative strategies for improving the road link between Dundalk and Newry is being finalised by An Foras Forbartha and the UK Transport and Road Research Laboratory, who have been jointly conducting the study. I have not yet received the report of the study. Detailed planning of an improved Dundalk-Newry road is being deferred pending receipt and consideration of the report.
