Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Drogheda Motor Taxation Arrangements.

274.

asked the Minister for the Environment, in view of the large number of car owners in Drogheda and the surrounding district, if he will open a motor taxation office in Drogheda for the convenience of these car owners.

In the first instance, it would be a matter for the licensing authority, Louth County Council, to consider the provision of a motor taxation sub-office in Drogheda. There are no proposals for such facilities in my Department. Any such proposals, would have to be considered in the light of any examination of the adequacy of the service provided by the central Motor Taxation Office based in Dundalk. I understand that the office deals promptly with postal applications for licences (including tax discs) etc.
