Vol. 347 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

275.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a mortgage interest subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named who did, however, apply for a new house grant. Neither the grant nor mortgage subsidy could be paid to the person named as he did not occupy the house on completion as his normal place of residence.

276.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The grant has been paid. Arrangements will be made for payment of the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy when the applicant submits the appropriate claim form duly certified by the lending agency.

277.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork and when payment will be made.

A grant cannot be paid until an inspection which will be carried out shortly establishes that the house is complete and occupied and complies with all other conditions governing the grant scheme. There has been no undue delay in my Department in dealing with this case.

278.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the inspection of a new house for a person (details supplied) in County Cork to enable payment of new house grant and mortgage subsidy.

The file in this case has been referred to my Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to payment of the grant.

As the mortgage was executed before the subsidy scheme came into operation on 10 April 1981 the application for subsidy cannot be allowed.
