Statistics are not available which would enable the precise information requested by the Deputy to be given. To obtain the information sought would require the identification of cases involved and an individual examination of all the income tax returns of such cases. Such an examination could only be carried out at a disproportionate cost. However, it is tentatively estimated that the net yield to the Exchequer for the year in question in respect of all preferential loans is of the order of £0.5 million.
