Vol. 349 No. 9

Written Answers. - Inner City Jobs.

464.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism the potential number of job places that could be provided at the proposed new IDA cluster of industrial units to be located at Summerhill-Gardiner Street-Seán McDermott Street, in Dublin's north inner city.

I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority have applied for planning permission for the construction of a 13,000 sq. ft. complex of small factory units at Seán McDermott Street-Gloucester Place, Dublin 1. The complex will be divided into 18 units ranging in size from 450 sq. ft. to 1,600 sq. ft. and is specifically designed to meet the needs of the typical start-up small industry or craft project.

It is not possible to forecast accurately the number of jobs which will be created in this complex as this will depend on the projects that locate there.
