Vol. 349 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

524.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will arrange to pay grants under the farm modernisation scheme, to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry in respect of a cubicle house, silage slab, dungstead, cattle crush yard and gates which he constructed in his farm-yard, and for which application was made in December 1982; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application for grant-aid for the items mentioned was received by the local farm development service office from the person mentioned on 24 February 1984. When the application was investigated, it was found that the silage slab had been completed and work on the cubicle house and associated concrete yard had commenced. Grant aid cannot be paid in respect of these items which were commenced without prior written approval.

The application for the remaining items viz. dungstead, cattle crush and gates will be processed in the normal way. The applicant has been notified that written permission is required from a neighbour before the dungstead can be approved.
