Vol. 349 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mallow (Cork) Mobile Training Unit.

12.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will instruct AnCO to make a mobile training unit available in Mallow, County Cork, because of the size of the town and the serious unemployment situation there and the number of young people interested in apprenticeships.

An AnCO mobile training unit was in operation in Mallow from 26 September 1983 to 9 March 1984. Three separate courses were provided and in all 60 people participated. Placement was about 65 per cent for those who participated. Mallow's training needs are reviewed on a regular basis by AnCO. The unit has now moved to Midleton.
