Vol. 350 No. 8

Written Answers. - Local Authority Posts.

528.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons that there is a limit of ten years on educational certificates for applicants for various posts within local authorities while no age limit applies; if he will remove this anomaly; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not clear what the Deputy has in mind because age limits are in fact prescribed for local authority offices to which appointments may be made by means of competitions based on the results attained by candidates in the relevant certificate examinations.
