Vol. 350 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tourist Industry Tax Relief.

541.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will include the tourist industry on "Income Tax relief for Investment Incorporate Trades" to ensure that the expansion necessary for economy within the tourist industry would not be hampered; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The provisions governing this relief are set out in the Finance Bill which will shortly be enacted. I have no reason to believe that the fact that this relief is confined to investment in manufacturing and certain service activities will lead to a shortage of capital for investment in the tourist industry.
