I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a claim for repayment of value-added tax for the taxable period November-December 1983 from the person concerned was withheld pending submission of an outstanding return for an earlier tax period. The outstanding return has been received and a cheque in settlement of his claim was issued to the trader on 18 May 1984.
