Vol. 350 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny School Repair Grant.

549.

asked the Minister for Finance when an outstanding grant will be paid to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for repairs carried out to the school in 1983.

550.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason payment of a school grant for repairs and surfacing of avenues has not been paid to a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny, although requests have been made to the Office of Public Works, Waterford, on 7 September, 11 November and 7 December 1983; when they might expect a reply; and when payment will be made.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 549 and 550 together. The grant in respect of the replacement of panels and windows at St. Patrick's Special School, Kells Road, Kilkenny has now been paid. A grant was sanctioned by the Department of Education towards the cost of the repair and surfacing of the avenue which serves the school and the residential units. The Office of Public Works considers that the cost of the work should be shared equally between the school and the residential units. The appropriate grant has now been paid to the manager of the school on this basis.
