asked the Minister for Education if she will arrange with An Bord Telecom to provide, free of charge, data lines to the Galway digital computer schools link-up, because of the inability of the nine schools involved to pay £800 each for such a facility and in view of the significant investment which is being made in this scheme by the Digital Corporation as a good will gesture to second level education in Galway city.

The Minister for Education has no function in relation to the operations of An Bord Telecom. It is not open to me, accordingly, in the discharge of my functions as Minister to make representations as suggested in the question from the Deputy.
