Vol. 350 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Waterford Tax Case.

521.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in having the tax affairs of persons (details supplied) in County Waterford investigated.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the correct tax-free allowances are being operated by their respective employers in connecting with the income of both spouses for the current year 1984-85. Information recently supplied by the husband in response to the inspector's request of 3 May 1984 is not sufficient to enable a review of the couple's joint liability for 1983-84 to be carried out. Accordingly, the inspector is writing to him again in the matter.
