Vol. 350 No. 12

Written Answers. - Dublin School Premises.

610.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of her recent commitment in response to a parliamentary question that alternative premises would be found for a national school in Dublin 1 from Easter 1984, she will state the reason her commitment involved a premises (details supplied) which it was well known, was not available for rent as the owner wished to sell, a fact which Deputy Gregory communicated to her office; and if she will outline the steps she is taking to secure an alternative, local premises, as there are several available for renting at present (details supplied).

My Department were given to understand that the premises referred to by the Deputy would be available for rent after Easter 1984, and that the special school project could be accommodated in them. When, immediately before Easter, it was ascertained that the premises in question were not so available, the board of management were asked to forward details of any other suitable premises in the area available for renting. My Department are awaiting a response from the board of management in the matter.
