Vol. 350 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Major Accident Emergency Plan.

2.

asked the Taoiseach if there is an agreed approach among the various services involved in the preparation of emergency plans for dealing with major accidents, which do not come within the ambit of the Fire Services Act, 1981.

3.

asked the Taoiseach if he is satisfied with the present arrangements for co-ordination of activities between the services involved at the scene of a major accident, other than those coming within the ambit of the Fire Services Act, 1981.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together.

I refer the Deputy to the reply which I gave to a question on 16 May 1984 concerning arrangements for co-ordinating emergency services at the scene of a major accident. The inter-departmental review to which I referred in my reply will establish the best method of co-ordination for the various emergency services concerned.
