Vol. 351 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Killeshandra (Cavan) Fire Station.

11.

asked the Minister for the Environment the position with regard to the provision of a fire station at Killeshandra, County Cavan.

It is a matter for Cavan County Council to make the necessary arrangements for the provision of a new fire station to replace the existing station in Killeshandra.

It has been ascertained from the local authority that while work was commenced on the building of a new fire station in Killeshandra in December 1982, the contractor experienced difficulties which necessitated the suspension of work in July 1983. The local authority have been negotiating with the contractor to complete the project. It is hoped that these negotiations will have a successful outcome.
