Vol. 351 No. 8

Written Answers. - GAA Club Grant Payment.

575.

asked the Minister for Labour when the final payment of £1,300 will be paid to a GAA club (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A total grant of £14,230 was awarded to this club under my Department's youth employment scheme. Payment of the wages and materials portion of the grant has issued in full. A sum of £1,170 is outstanding in respect of craftwork. In accordance with the conditions of the scheme payment of the grant in respect of craftwork is made on submission of appropriate receipts. The project organisers undertook, in February 1984, to forward the relevant information to enable payment of this grant to be made but, to date, no further communication has been received by my Department.

In addition, organisers are obliged to submit a professionally audited account of expenditure on the project within two months of completion. The project organisers were reminded of this obligation on 2 November 1983. Such account has not, as yet been submitted. Payment of the outstanding amount of £1,170 will issue on receipt of an audited account and satisfactory receipts in respect of expenditure on craftwork from the organisers.
