Vol. 352 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Galway School Appointment.

438.

asked the Minister for Education the reasons a special teacher for the deaf has not been sanctioned for a school (details supplied) in County Galway despite the fact that an application has been made for some time for this teacher; the date on which this sanction will be made; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are currently examining a request from the Galway Association for the Deaf to have provision made at a national school in Galway for a number of hearing impaired children. It is anticipated that it may be possible to convey a decision in the matter to the association at a very early date.
