asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the serious concern and alarm of residents of Oakley Park, Clontarf, Dublin 3, at the spate of burglaries of their houses; and the permanent action he proposes to take to curb these criminal activities.

, Limerick East): I am informed by the Garda authorities that four burglaries and one attempted burglary have been committed in the area since the beginning of the year. There have been detections in two cases and inquiries are continuing in respect of the other crimes.

The precise arrangements for policing particular areas are a matter for the Garda authorities. They have informed me that extra foot and mobile patrols have been arranged for Oakley Park. The area is part of the Clontarf Garda sub-district and twelve extra gardaí have been allocated to that station since January 1983.
