Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Sion Hill Additional Accommodation.

310.

asked the Minister for Education if, in view of the urgent need for additional facilities at the College of Home Economics, Sion Hill, Blackrock, County Dublin she will state the date on which the college authorities were asked by her Department to state their needs in relation to such additional facilities; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The question of the need for additional accommodation at the college was first mentioned in discussions with the college authorities in June 1981. Definite proposals were made in January 1983. Discussions have taken place since then in regard to the nature and extent of the college's requirements. As indicated in reply to Question No. 549 on 10 May 1984 the matter is now under examination and a decision will be expedited as much as possible.
