Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Road Ramps.

350.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider introducing legislation to allow local authorities to construct ramps in roads in housing estates where speeding cars constitute a danger especially to children.

As I stated in my reply to Question No. 324 put down by Deputy Brennan on 7 February 1984 the whole question of the provision of speed control ramps on public roads either on an experimental basis or otherwise, including the statutory framework within which they might be provided, is currently being examined in my Department. Any proposals in the matter would be considered in the context of a further Road Traffic Bill.
