Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Drogheda Quay.

101.

asked the Minister for Communications if he is aware that Welshman's Quay, Drogheda, is now in imminent danger of collapse, and that should the quay collapse, severe damage will also be caused to the reconstructed steam packet quay; and if he will immediately make the necessary finance available to avert this very serious situation.

Drogheda Harbour Commissioners have recently furnished data in support of their application for State assistance for works at the port including the reconstruction of Welshman's Quay. Further information is being sought from the commissioners. When this further information comes to hand I will consider the question of State assistance.
