Vol. 352 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

116.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied that the full amount of tax rebate for 1980 and 1981 has been paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13 on the basis of a provisional review of liability as referred to in Parliamentary Question No. 180 of 19 January 1984; if a final review has been carried out of this liability; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The review of liability for the year 1980-81 was provisional in the sense that since it was done without the corroboration of the employer of all the particulars of pay and tax submitted by the taxpayer the repayment was subject to that corroboration. However, the full amount of overpaid tax, calculated on the basis of the available information, was in fact refunded.
