Vol. 352 No. 8

Written Answers. - Dromineer (Tipperary) Premises.

462.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will indicate the size of a building at Dromineer, County Tipperary (details supplied) the portion being used for the purposes of maintenance and repair of Dromineer harbour, and the precise work carried out there, how long it is proposed to continue such works, and if he is satisfied that this is an appropriate use for such a building in view of its potential for use as a holiday home for children from the inner city of Dublin.

The store at Dromineer, which is approximately 85 square metres in extent, is used by the Commissioners of Public Works for the purposes of the Shannon Navigation and I am satisfied that that is an appropriate use. Stores occupy about two-thirds of the floor area at present. Maintenance and development of the navigation is a continuous process with works varying in extent and location from time to time. The works being carried out at Dromineer harbour will be completed in 1985.
