asked the Minister for Justice with reference to Parliamentary Question No. 619 of 13 December 1983 regarding the complaint of a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow of Garda harassment, the reply to which stated that the allegations would be brought to the notice of the Garda authorities if he will now detail the response of the gardaí in this regard.

, Limerick East): The allegations were brought to the attention of the Garda authorities at the time and were investigated without delay. However, due to an oversight, the terms of my reply to the Deputy's question of 13 December 1983 were not communicated to Garda Headquarters and they assumed that my Department was arranging for a reply to be given.
Now that the Deputy has brought the matter to notice a reply to the complainant is being issued by the Garda authorities.
