The proposed extension to the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1977, will provide initially for employee participation at board level in a further group of six State enterprises: Aer Rianta, Bord Gáis Éireann, An Foras Forbartha, National Rehabilitation Board, Irish Steel Limited and the Voluntary Health Insurance Board.
The extension of the Act to further State enterprises will be considered at a later stage and at that time the question of including the IIRS will be examined.
