Vol. 352 No. 8

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Paper Mills.

347.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism when Clondalkin Paper Mills will re-open as a paper making industry.

In the agreement concluded in November 1983 between the IDA and FMI International Ltd. it was agreed that, following a first-phase period of paper-conversion in Clondalkin, the company would proceed to paper-making as soon as the IDA had approved the viability of such an operation.

I understand from the IDA that negotiations regarding the future are at present underway with the company. The date of any progression to paper-making will, therefore, depend on the outcome of these discussions.
