The Taoiseach received a letter from the Nicaraguan authorities inviting the Oireachtas to send an all party delegation of observers to the elections in Nicaragua on 4 November. This letter was referred to the Ceann Comhairle and the Cathaoirleach of the Seanad as the matter was one for the Oireachtas rather than the Government. It is understood that arrangements have been made to send a delegation of four Members of the Oireachtas to Nicaragua.
