Vol. 353 No. 1

Written Answers. - House Grant Regulations.

429.

asked the Minister for the Environment if all applications for the £1,000 new house grant and mortgage subsidy will be paid, irrespective of the condition requiring application within 12 months of occupation of the house.

I wish to refer the Deputy to my reply to the question put down by him for answer in this general matter on 16 October 1984. The effect of the regulations made on 1 August 1984, is that the one year rule no longer applies in the case of "one-off" houses or in a case where an applicant for a grant was precluded from furnishing his application to the Department due to unavoidable delay on his part in obtaining the necessary tax certificate.
