Vol. 353 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Boards.

472.

asked the Minister for Health if any health board has requested an additional allocation to open buildings or to use equipment not now in use; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Health boards were made aware of the necessarily restricted nature of the provision for the commissioning of new units of accommodation etc. which was made available within the original Exchequer allocation for health services in 1984. Indeed, it was made quite clear to all health boards that there would be no additional funds available, for the purpose of supplementing the original allocation of any health agency. Consequently no specific requests for funds for this purpose were received from health boards.
