Vol. 353 No. 1

Written Answers. - Offaly New National School.

585.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for Education the proposals she has to solve the serious overcrowding problem at the primary school in Ballinagar; and the proposals she has for the building of a new national school there.

My Department has agreed in principle to the extension of Ballinagar national school, County Offaly, to give accommodation overall of three classrooms and a general purposes room. In order to advance the planning of this project my Department, following consultation with the Commissioners of Public Works, authorised the chairman of the board of management in August 1984 to appoint his own architect and to arrange for him to contact the Office of Public Works in connection with further planning.
