I indicated in my address to this House in moving motions to establish certain new committees on 21 June 1983 (Dáil Official Report Vol. 343, No. 10 cols. 2367, 2372), that it was my intention that a review of the operations of Oireachtas Committees should be carried out when the committees had been in operation for about 12 months.
Most of the committees became operational in September-October last year and a review of their operations is now being carried out. In this review, I will be pleased to take into account any views which Deputies might have on the committee system.
