Vol. 353 No. 8

Written Answers. - Malicious Injuries Claims.

433.

asked the Minister for Justice the action he proposes to take to offset the situation in the Border areas arising from his decision to abolish malicious injuries claims against local authorities.

434.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will have the Malicious Injury Claims Act as related to Northern Ireland troubles reviewed in view of decisions in recent cases which resulted in a demand on Monaghan County Council for a repayment in the region of £80,000 — £90,000.

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 433 and 434 together.

Questions of this kind can be most suitably dealt with when the Bill to implement the recent decision of the Government in relation to malicious damage to property comes before the House, which I expect to happen during this session.
