806.

asked the Minister for Justice the organisations which have received money for the provision of legal aid in civil cases under section 3 (2) (e) (iii) of the Funds of Suitors Act, 1984.

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 805 and 806 together.

I have received proposals from the Legal Aid Board, and from a number of voluntary organisations, namely FLAC, the Coolock Community Law Centre, and AIM, for allocations of money under the Funds of Suitors Act, 1984.

I have also received representations from various community and welfare organisations, and from public representatives, for the provision of civil legal aid services or for an expansion of such services in various areas.

I hope to be able to decide soon how the money available under the Act will be allocated and over what period, having regard to all the circumstances.
