asked the Taoiseach the population structure of Charleville, County Cork, in 1971 and 1981, male and female, in the following age groups: 0-12 years, 13-18 years, 19-24 years, 25-64 years and over 65.

The town of Rathluirc (Charleville), County Cork, does not have a legal boundary. For census of population purposes a boundary is defined for each census by the Central Statistics Office. The population of the town as defined for the 1971 Census was 2,232. The population of the town as defined for the 1981 Census was 2,874, the 1971 population for the corresponding area being 2,309.

The following table classifies the population of the town, as defined in 1971 and 1981, according to age group and sex. The only information available for 1971 relates to the standard quinquennial age groups. The classification by age group and sex of the 1971 population in the area
